Our Health Education and Learning (HEAL) project is dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and support they need to take charge of their emotional, physical, and mental well-being. At the heart of our initiative is Miss Ida, a relatable and entertaining character who captivates audiences through theatrical performances. She shares vital health messages in a way that resonates with everyone.
Our bespoke Community Health Education workshops blend engaging storytelling with meaningful opportunities for learning and sharing lived experiences. Join Miss Ida in February and March 2025 as she features in workshops in Oldbury, Smethwick and West Bromwich. Call 07912538522 for more information or book your place by emailing jmblaney5@gmail.com
We partner with the Dorothy Parkes Centre in Smethwick, West Midlands, to run our Soup and Social project, organised to help beat the winter months with hearty meals and good company. Running from January to April, this project creates a warm and welcoming space for everyone to come together, share stories, and enjoy a nutritious meal. Each week, participants enjoy delicious, freshly prepared soups cooked by our talented gourmet chef – Aairon Dalton from ‘Food for Thought,’ a Community Interest Company.
Our 'Grow It and Know It Community Garden' promotes healthier communities. It brings people together to grow and learn about food, encourages physical activity and provides a space for improved mental health and well-being. Each year, we cultivate our produce, which is shared among volunteers and donated to the local church food bank.
Working with the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we welcome individuals recovering from mental health challenges who express a sense of accomplishment growing their own food and feeling a connection to nature.
The garden also helps combat isolation and loneliness. Our therapeutic space promotes relaxation and connection through hands-on activities, contributing to a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Tech-Connect is an initiative that aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping older people and other vulnerable groups with the skills they need to enter the digital world. As healthcare becomes increasingly digitalised, for example, Tech-Connect provides a pathway for these groups to access vital health resources online. Through comprehensive training in digital literacy, the program aims to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reap the benefits of the digital age, regardless of their age or background. We are committed to building a more inclusive and connected society that empowers individuals to take control of their health and well-being through digital means.
